"Nobody gets anything for nothing." This is a common saying (well, some would call it a worn out cliché) that we all hear when the subject of free giveaways comes up. In many instances, it is accurate to say that the criteria a person must meet in order to receive something for free is so outrageously high that you really can not take the offer seriously. When it comes to credit card rebate cards, however, these cards are legitimate in their approach to providing people with "freebies" provided that the cardholders follow the terms and conditions required to collect the promised items. With credit card rebate cards the ability to receive "free money" in the form of rebates to solid customers is provided. Now, this raises a few red flags of legitimacy up in people’s heads, but there is no reason for such concern. The cards are legitimate.
So why are credit card companies so willing to give away "free money?" Are they not in the business of earning money as opposed to giving it away? Well, we need to take a slight step back here and answer that question in a logical manner. First, there is no reason to worry about whether or not the folks at the credit card companies will run short of money. They are doing quite well and this is because healthy competition can make a company successful. Because there are multitudes of credit card companies out there competing with one another each card needs to do something that can help it stand out in a crowd. This is where competitive reward and rebate cards become quite successful. They have the ability to attract attention and draw in new customers. As such, they pay for themselves and this is why the card companies offer them with few strings attached.
