Credit Card Rebate

Posted in credit card rebate on January 3 2009

Credit card rebate "Nobody gets anything for nothing." This is a common saying (well, some would call it a worn out cliché) that we all hear when the subject of free giveaways comes up. In many instances, it is accurate to say that the criteria a person must meet in order to receive something for free is so outrageously high that you really can not take the offer seriously. When it comes to credit card rebate cards, however, these cards are legitimate in their approach to providing people with "freebies" provided that the cardholders follow the terms and conditions required to collect the promised items. With credit card rebate cards the ability to receive "free money" in the form of rebates to solid customers is provided. Now, this raises a few red flags of legitimacy up in people’s heads, but there is no reason for such concern. The cards are legitimate.

So why are credit card companies so willing to give away "free money?" Are they not in the business of earning money as opposed to giving it away? Well, we need to take a slight step back here and answer that question in a logical manner. First, there is no reason to worry about whether or not the folks at the credit card companies will run short of money. They are doing quite well and this is because healthy competition can make a company successful. Because there are multitudes of credit card companies out there competing with one another each card needs to do something that can help it stand out in a crowd. This is where competitive reward and rebate cards become quite successful. They have the ability to attract attention and draw in new customers. As such, they pay for themselves and this is why the card companies offer them with few strings attached.

Best Gas Credit Card

Posted in best gas credit card on January 24 2009

So what is the value of the best gas credit card? If you think they are only good for putting gasoline in your car think again…there is far more to them that that!

The letters from the credit card companies start rolling in and whether they are from Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express they all say the same thing: due to your lack of a credit history your application is denied. This is a quandary that many young people looking to be approved for their first credit card and they discover no one wants to green light their application.

When you are young and have not yet established a credit history being approved for a credit card can be somewhat elusive. This can be downright frustrating on a number of levels because it underlies a paradoxical situation: how can you get a credit card when you do not have a credit history and how can you devise a credit history if you do not have a credit card? The answer is relatively simple: start with a gas credit card.

Again, if your trying to establish good credit and you’re asking yourself which kind of credit card is best? Gas credit cards is your answer because they are much easier to get approved for as their limits are low and the frequency of their use limited to the amount of gasoline you need. Plus, you are “stuck” patronizing the establishment which sponsors the card. So, if you use the card regularly and pay the balance regularly then credit will be quickly established and the ability to move on to another card becomes easier.

Credit Card For Business

Posted in credit card for business on January 24 2009

When people think of credit cards they usually think of their own personal credit cards and not a credit card for business costs. For people who own their own businesses or operate with an LLC the need for a credit card for business expenses is critical. After all, you can not make huge purchases for you business out of liquid cash and you certainly do not want to use a personal credit card for a number of reasons.

There is an aspect to business credit cards that most people do not think of off the bat, but if they examined this aspect a little closer then they would come to the very obvious understanding that these particular credit cards provide a very valuable service. That service is providing clear protection for the individual from liability.

What needs to be understood above all else is that when you own a business there will always be potential liabilities against the owner. This is why LLC’s are formed: in case of litigation or bankruptcy the assets of the business are dealt with as opposed to the assets of the individual owner. While you could use your own personal card and then have your business refund your expenditures it would be better and clearer to acquire a credit card under the business’ name so as to limit any liabilities. Not to mention, a credit card for business spending provides many valuable services, so why not utilize them?

Credit Card for Students

Posted in credit card for students on January 16 2009

There will be those who look at credit card for students and shake their head. After all, what would be the purpose of providing a college student who is unfamiliar with fiscal responsibility with a card that they will irresponsibly run the balance up? This is a fair question, but it ignores the true purpose and reason behind acquiring such a card. The main reason the card is acquired is so that they can make necessary school related purchases.

Text books can cost a great deal of money. The reason for this is the fact that choice is removed from the equation when textbooks are concerned. In other words, when the professor of a course tells the class to purchase a $115.00 text book there is no way around it. The students have to purchase the text book. The publishers know this and this is why they jack up the price to the ridiculous degree that they raise it to. Needless to say, there are very few students who carry around such liquid cash with them. Hence, the need for credit card for students makes a great deal of sense.

If concerns still liner in regards to the student overspending and running up the balance of the card some solace can be taken in the fact that the credit limit on many credit card for students are relatively low. So, there is less chance for abuse with these particular cards than with other types of credit cards. As such, the reasons for worry are somewhat put to ease.

AmEx Credit Card

Posted in amex credit card on January 12 2009

There are very few people in the world who are not familiar with the AmEx credit card as American Express has long since established itself as probably the premiere credit card company in the world. Many people, however, believe that the company is a relatively new one because they were first introduced to American Express in the 1960’s and 1970’s thanks to a number of popular commercials. But, American Express has been around a lot longer than most people realize.

Believe it or not, American Express originally started as a special delivery service in the 1850’s and then later expanded into the finance business circa the early 1880’s. The company’s first venture into the world of finance started initially with the sale of money orders and this proved successful enough for the company to later expand into other ventures as well. The AmEx credit card eventually debuted in 1958 and were wildly popular. In back, close to a quarter of a million applications flooded the company when the card – originally designed to be a competitor to the Diner’s Club card – debuted. Originally, the credit card was not a card at all. It was merely an account number and name typed on paper. However, the plastic lamented card would debut in 1959 and it was an invention of American Express. Yes, American Express was the first company to actually issue credit vouchers in a card form. The popularity of American Express would grow gradually over the years and thanks to the legendary Karl Malden “Don’t Leave Home Without It” commercials of the 1970’s the card would literally become the part of the pop cultural landscape of America. In fact, without these brilliant commercials American Express would have surely lost ground to the emerging competition provided by Visa and Mastercard.

Of course, advertising campaigns can only take a product so far. It is merit, fair rates and solid customer service that has made the AmEx credit card as popular as they are and they will continue to remain popular for many more years to come. In other words, no one will be leaving home without it.

Lowest Interest Credit Card

Posted in lowest interest credit card on January 7 2009

Lowest interest credit cardIf there was any solid endorsement that could be put forth for the lowest interest credit card it would be the fact that these particular cards do not inflict punitive action on those who use the card. In other words, no purchase will be saddles with an outrageous interest payment that will make eliminating the debt impossible.

When it comes to dealing with credit card debt the main obstacle to paying off the balance on a card is the interest. If the interest rate on a particular card is too high it becomes next to impossible to get a handle on reducing said debt. Sadly, many people find themselves beholden to such cards and feel trapped. Usually, these individuals found themselves attracted to “rewards programs” and “travel miles” and did not pay attention to the high interest rates associated with these cards.

So, what is someone to do when it is already too late and they are stuck with a high interest rate card? Whoa! Who said it was too late? If you are stuck with a card that has an overly high interest rate then all you need to do is transfer the balance to any one of a number of solid low interest credit cards. In fact, this is HIGHLY recommended as the alternative of expending such excess money is not worth it as it makes no fiscal sense.
